We need 3 dynamic Network Engineers to join our team. In this role, you will be called upon to provide comprehensive analysis of the current capacity of Sun’s internet complex and services. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Internal and external routing

- Network security

- Firewall complex

- VPN tunneling

- Load balancers

- Sun Partner Extranet

Your responsibilities will include:
- Evaluating the impact of new or upgraded end-user applications on the network.

- Providing operational consultation to other Network Technologists for escalated problems.

- Implementing operation improvements to the existing network design to ensure redundancy systems are effective.

- Assisting in determining business potential and acceptability of new network technologies.

- Architecting near-term (1-3) network strategies and advises management on strategic network directions.

- Assisting in the forecasting of capital and expenditures.

- Providing network application support.

- Providing guidance and direction in determining adequate capacity and performance levels of the network.

- Evaluating and determining timing of new product introductions and obsolescence of existing products and technologies.

- Developing tools to improve productivity and implements quality programs within the group.

As a project leader, you will produce project plans, assembles project teams members, delegates tasks to ensure project is completed on time, within budget, and properly documented. As a project team member, you
will define and documents user needs, participates in the evaluation, selection and design of networking technologies, implements new network products and defines operational and support strategies.

Marginal Funtions:
Will be required to work with 3rd party service providers and support teams. Will be required to work off-hours for project implementations and be willing to work standby/call-out for Tier3 support and service warranties.

Requirements:
Typically requires a BS degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent and 7-9 years related networking experience with 4-8 years in implementation planning or data communications operation and maintenance or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Working experience with network routers, network switches, firewalls, VPN site-to-site tunneling, load balancers, and complex network infrastructures. Managing large projects and working within a project team.

Demonstrated, in-depth knowledge of networking technology and business issues to develop appropriate recommendations on network products and services. Ability to utilize thorough understanding of the investment decision process and the budget and procurement processes to develop on-term network strategies. Ability to plan and manage the implementation of complex projects. Ability to effectively conduct management presentations. Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of firewalls and proxy services. PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of Unix/Solaris operating systems and Cisco IOS. Cisco certified with a CCNA or higher. Has experience with network monitoring and performance tools.
