Java Server Engineer Contract Position - San Francisco Based Technology Firm

We have a 3-month contracting opportunity for a Java J2EE or J2SE software engineer developing Java server applications for a San Francisco based technology firm.

Duties and Responsibilities:
-Work in collaboration with the technical team and project managers to design, develop, test and debug enterprise-level Java server applications

-Collaborate with tech writers to create installation and operations documentation

-Demonstrate initiative and contribute to problem solving

-Make decisions that affect own work

Required Skills and Experience:
-BA/BS in Technology related studies (or equivalent)

-4+ years relevant experience developing n-tier enterprise applications

-3+ years development experience with Java and core J2EE or J2SE technologies (Servlets, JSP, JDBC, etc.)

-Experience with XML Web Services and SOAP

-Experience developing database applications

-Solid understanding of TCP, UDP, and HTTP

-Knowledge and understanding of OOA/D and OOP principles

-Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills and Experience: Gaming industry experience is a big +++
