Instructional Designer/Learning Consultant at Cisco Systems, San Jose

We are looking for an INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER / LEARNING CONSULTANT to join a team of consultants at Cisco Systems in San Jose.

DESCRIPTION:
This highly demanding Instructional Designer/Learning Consultant role is responsible for analyzing, evaluating, designing, creating and communicating educational learning objectives and content for Systems Engineers’ (SEs) training development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop learning objectives and design specs of new content

- Create analysis and design documentation to create Courseware Designs

- Lead working sessions with Content Development teams to develop learning objectives

- Provide content requirements for integrated Instructor Lead and E-learning environment

- Produce development docs to support the development teams

- Update materials for, present at and facilitate kickoff and team synch-up meetings

- Create Business Requirement Documentation and develop design specs

- Develop content inventory & learning maps of existing content

- Validate, create, and update Training Materials, Reference Guides, Presentations, and Job Aids

- Create timelines, dashboards, and execution strategies

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Self-driven, highly motivated, energetic and flexible self-starter capable of managing competing priorities, confidently dealing with strong egos and delivering fast, precise results

- Successful track record in working effectively in a fast-paced, extremely dynamic, global high-tech environment with the ability to grasp and evaluate new technologies quickly

- Experience as curriculum manager and/or managing development of large training or development programs

- Experience with, and knowledge of, networking technologies as well as e-learning experience

- Team-player with excellent project management, communication and presentation skills

- Combination of “worker bee” and solid ID background – needs to have a “can do” attitude

- Outstanding people skills and the ability to negotiate and achieve workable compromises quickly are essential

- Absolutely proficient in PowerPoint
