Associate Scientist
Archimedes based in SF seeks Associate Scientist with superb Math

Responsibilities:
- The responsibilities for this position include a combination of activities that include mathematical modeling, code development and research. Each is described below:

- Mathematical Modeling

- Critical analysis and understanding to Archimedes’ approach to modeling and an ability and willingness to learn how the model works

- Ability to set up various trials with a variety of variables in that trial

- Provide routine analysis on various components of model simulation

- Ensuring thoroughness in analysis. Must be sufficiently skeptical and exercise good judgment in terms of outcomes.

- Interpreting numbers is key and knowing when outcomes are valid and when there are issues to research is an important part of the job.

Code:
- Ability to write code and program effectively.

- Ability to translate model properties into a working code

Research:
- Provide literature searches for latest articles and thinking on various medical issues

- Good judgment in knowing which thought leaders are most relevant to questions at hand

- Ability to know where to look and scan for latest research

- Ability to summarize and provide pro’s and con’s for various publications

Requirements:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s or PhD Preferred in relevant math or science degree

- Experience in mathematical modeling

- Must have experience in research and analysis, including knowledge and/or experience with mathematical modeling

- Must have experience with advanced programming languages such as SmartTalk, Fortran, C or C++. SmallTalk experience highly desirable.

- Research and analysis experience

- Proven ability to work effectively in a highly academic and team oriented environment

- Willingness to learn and understand additional aspects of mathematical modeling

- Start-up experience a plus

- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
