Applications/Systems Administrator

6+ month contract with medical benefits, Ashburn, VA, for Sun Microsystems

BCI Staffing, Inc., has an immediate opening for a Applications/Systems Administrator to join our level 1 support team. In this role you will provide productions support to customer applications running in our clients Hosting Environment.

The environment is heterogeneous (Windows, UNIX [Solaris] and Linux), where you will receive phone and web initiated support issues that you will be responsible for the end to end ownership of by receiving and tracking issues, problem resolution or escalation, and closing the ticket out once completed.

In addition you will need to document and fine tune repetitive support processes to address continued growth within the Hosting Environment.

Required:
-At least 2-3 yrs of experience as a Applications Support or Systems Administrator within a Production Support or Help Desk Environment.

-Must show strong command of UNIX (Solaris Preferred), WINDOWS operating systems and demonstrated experience in Perl or Shell scripting.

-Experience with SQL preferred.

-Must have experience with SNMP, and Systems Monitoring Tools: NetCool, HP Openview

-Must have excellent communications skills.
